Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS)
Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) antennas are the most effective way to reduce retail shrinkage. We sell, install and service antennas and accessories for retailers of all sizes – from single independent shops to multi-location chains.
We help you choose the right technology, supply all accessories and ensure your system performs at its best.
Choose the Right Technology: AM or RF?
There are two dominant EAS technologies. The right choice depends on your store type, product range and required detection level.
AM – Acousto-Magnetic (58 kHz)
AM is the most widely used technology in modern retail security. The system uses a low-frequency magnetic field (58 kHz) and delivers an exceptionally high detection rate with very few false alarms. AM is largely unaffected by metal packaging or aluminium foil, making it ideal for clothing, footwear, electronics and general merchandise. Hard tags for AM systems are robust, reusable and highly tamper-resistant.
- Highest detection rate on the market
- Very few false alarms
- Performs well around metallic packaging
- Robust and reusable hard tags
- Long lifespan and low maintenance costs
RF – Radio Frequency (8.2 MHz)
RF systems operate at 8.2 MHz and are primarily used in bookshops, libraries and media stores. RF labels are extremely inexpensive and can be printed directly onto packaging or publications. The trade-off is that RF is more susceptible to false alarms and has a lower detection rate than AM, especially around metallic products. Deactivation at POS is simple using a deactivator pad.
- Very low-cost paper labels
- Simple deactivation at checkout
- Well-suited for books, media and paper products
- Broad compatibility with EAS systems worldwide
Our Recommendation
For most retailers, we recommend AM technology. The higher detection accuracy and low false alarm rate make AM the clear choice for clothing, footwear, electronics, sports goods and grocery. RF is primarily relevant for bookshops, libraries and stores where very low-cost disposable labels are a firm requirement.

Hard Tag – Mini/Specialist
A compact hard tag for items where the standard size is impractical – jewellery, sunglasses, small accessories. Same security level in a smaller form factor.
