What is a body camera?
A body camera (bodycam) is a compact camera worn on the body – typically clipped to the chest, shoulder or helmet – that records video and audio from the wearer's perspective. Recordings are stored locally on the device and transferred automatically to a server or cloud platform when the device is placed in the docking station after use. The system provides full traceability: who wore the camera, when it was activated, and exactly what was recorded – with encrypted and tamper-resistant metadata.

Automatic upload via docking station
The camera is placed in the docking station after the shift – recordings transfer automatically to the server or cloud without any action required from the user. No risk of missing uploads or forgotten footage.
Pre-record buffer
The camera continuously records to a short buffer. When the user activates recording, seconds or minutes from before activation are included – capturing what happened immediately before the incident began.
Tamper-evident recordings and traceability
Each recording is encrypted and stamped with a timestamp, GPS position and user ID. Metadata cannot be altered after the fact – which is essential for documentation to be used in complaints, disciplinary proceedings or court cases.
Live streaming to control room
Selected models support live video streaming via 4G/5G to an operator platform – providing real-time situational awareness for duty managers or operations centres.
Long battery life and ruggedness
Designed for a full work shift – typically 10–12 hours of operation. IP-rated for dust, shock and water in demanding field conditions.
Lone worker alarm / panic button
Several models feature a built-in panic button that sends an immediate alert to an operations centre or duty manager. Some also support a man-down function. Particularly relevant for home care, social services and field workers.
