Safes & Security Cabinets
Solid Sikring stocks a wide range of safes and security cabinets with FG approvals and other necessary certifications – for the secure storage of monetary value, valuables and sensitive information. We supply to businesses, the public sector and private customers, and help you choose the right solution based on the assets to be secured and the insurance requirements that apply.
The right safe or security cabinet for your situation
A safe or security cabinet is the last physical barrier between your assets and an intruder. But not all safes are equal – certification requirements vary depending on what is to be stored and what your insurer requires. Cash safes for retail are categorised differently from document safes for law firms or gun cabinets for hunters. Solid Sikring guides you through the specification and delivers the solution that meets the requirement – without unnecessary over-engineering, but always with the approvals that are required.
Who needs a safe or security cabinet?

Get in touchHow we find the right solution for you
We always start with what is to be stored, the applicable insurance requirements and available space – and then recommend the right product.
What needs to be stored?
Cash, securities, keys, documents, data, medication or items? The type of contents defines which certification and fire protection is required.
What does insurance require?
Insurers often require FG approval, a specific burglary class and fire rating. The wrong safe can mean you are not covered in the event of a claim. We know the requirements and help you choose correctly.
Location and installation
A safe should be anchored to the floor or wall to prevent it being carried away. We assess the location, access and whether anchoring or in-floor mounting is needed.
Delivery and commissioning
We deliver and install the safe, set up the code or key combination and provide instructions. You receive complete documentation including certificates.
Frequently asked questions
Find answers to the most common questions about this service.
FG (Forsikringsselskapenes Godkjennelsesnevnd – the Norwegian Insurance Approvals Board) approves safes and security cabinets following testing of burglary resistance and, where relevant, fire protection. Insurers often require FG approval for theft of the contents to be covered. We only stock products with the relevant approvals.
Shops typically need a cash safe (drop safe) or front-loading till safe with FG approval. The insured sum and daily cash volume determine the required class. We help you clarify the requirements with your insurer.
We do not supply vaults directly, but through our network and partners we can coordinate a full delivery of vaults and strong rooms – from specification and design through to installation. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
A safe is a freestanding certified unit for storing valuables. A secure room is a room built with reinforced walls, an FG-approved door and technical security measures to provide high security over a larger area – suitable for larger volumes.

Need a vault or strong room?
Some security needs exceed what a single security cabinet can solve. Through our network and established partners, we can assist with specification, design and coordinated delivery of vaults and strong rooms – modular or concrete-constructed – for banks, jewellery stores and other businesses with large volumes of assets requiring dedicated storage infrastructure. Please contact us if you have this type of requirement – we will put you in touch with the right party and support you through the process.
Secure rooms and high-security storage
A secure room is a room that has been physically and technically reinforced for the safe storage of assets, sensitive documents or high-value easy-to-sell goods in volumes beyond what a safe can handle. This is not a vault – it is an ordinary room upgraded with a combination of reinforced construction, FG-approved doors and locks, intruder alarm, CCTV and, where needed, access control.
Retail and merchandise
Shops handling high-value easy-to-sell goods – electronics, jewellery, sports equipment, premium clothing – need staff access during opening hours but robust overnight security. A secure room gives staff quick and efficient access while goods are locked away and monitored outside opening hours. Typical solution: reinforced steel-clad door with access card, motion alarm and camera inside the room.
Businesses handling sensitive documentation
Law firms, audit houses, estate agents and public bodies handling large volumes of confidential documents, original contracts or archive material need secure storage with controlled access. A secure room provides far greater capacity than even large document safes can offer.
Pharmacies and medication handling
Pharmacies with large stocks of Schedule A and B medications, and clinics with expensive pharmaceuticals, have requirements for room-based security. A dedicated medication secure room with access control and CCTV satisfies Legemiddelverket requirements and provides a traceable audit log for authorised personnel.
IT security and data storage
Server rooms and archive rooms for tape backup, storage media and sensitive hardware require a combination of fire protection, climate control and high burglary resistance. We assist with the technical security measures – alarm, access control, CCTV and logged access.
