Physical electronic key

iLOQ S5

iLOQ S5 is a physical key that looks like a regular key, but contains electronics that communicate with the lock. When the key is inserted into the cylinder, power is generated that drives the lock's electronics. No batteries, no charging – just insert the key and turn.

Mobile key via NFC

iLOQ S50

iLOQ S50 uses the smartphone as a key. By holding the phone against the lock, energy is transferred via NFC, and the lock opens if the user has valid access. Keys can be sent via SMS or app – the recipient never needs to meet anyone physically to gain access.

When the S5 key is inserted into the cylinder, or the S50 phone is held against the lock, power is generated via mechanical movement (S5) or NFC field (S50). This energy powers the lock's electronics at the moment it's needed.

You log into the administration system and block the key immediately. The lost key will no longer work in any lock. You don't need to change cylinders.

Yes, most installations use a combination. Employees and regular users often get S5 keys, while guests and temporary users get S50 mobile keys.

The mobile key is downloaded to the phone and works offline. The lock doesn't need internet either. Updates sync next time the phone is online.

iLOQ cylinders have an expected lifetime of over 10 years with normal use. Since there are no batteries to replace, maintenance needs are minimal.
